Allen Iverson looking for a comeback – will it be in the Philippines?

Allen IversonNBA analyst Rick Kamla told Allen Iverson that he looked forward to seeing the former Philadelphia 76er get back on the court again, singling out the Philippines and China as possible destinations for the 2001 NBA MVP on an episode of NBA GameTime that aired Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time).“We wish you were balling in the NBA. If that doesn’t work out, we hope you catch on in the Philippines, China. Wherever you want to continue your basketball career, we’ll be watching and we’ll be cheering,” Kamla told Iverson.

Allen Iverson had an emotional return to Philadelphia Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Manila time). The 36-year-old combo-guard walked the game ball to center court, to the cheers of the 76ers fans who were on hand to witness Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between Philadephia and the Boston Celtics.

“It got so emotional for me before I walked out of there. I actually was in a rush to get out of there. I didn’t wanna break down. My eyes started watering,” said Allen Iverson.

“I love these people here. I really feel that they respect me for everything I gave on the basketball court. It was an extraordinary experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

GameTime panelist and 2004 NBA Champion Rip Hamilton expressed his admiration for the former Sixer great, adding that Allen Iverson is sorely missed on the court. GMA network
